At Hooker, we are committed to assuring quality in all important areas of furniture-making: materials, where quality begins with carefully selected lumber, wood veneers and other resources; product design and engineering, where quality is enhanced with the thoughtful inclusion of important features that result in significant benefits to the consumer; and execution, where quality results from the caring craftsmanship of skilled employees.
Hooker's Case Construction and Finishing
Assure Outstanding Quality...Inside and Out!
Solid lumber and select wood veneers over wood products are carefully chosen to permit consistent finishing.
All items receive two to three coats of high solid lacquer for extra depth and long-lasting durability.
On most designs, end panels extend to the floor for added strength and stability.

Most cases feature sturdy levelers to permit adjustment on uneven floors.
Some entertainment centers have finished tops;
others have stained tops.
Hooker finishes utilize up to 30 finishing steps, including 13 steps of hand-sanding and accenting.
Physical distressing is done by hand for an authentic look.
Case frames are assembled with strong mortise and tenon joints, reinforced by mechanical fasteners and glue.
Case interiors are finished to eliminate unsightly "raw" wood.

Raised panel doors have strong panel and frame construction to help prevent warping.
Hooker Furniture utilizes carefully chosen solid wood and select wood veneers over wood products in its construction. Use of veneers enables more decorative looks unattainable with solid wood. Veneers, which are used over engineered wood products, are present mostly on flat surface areas of the furniture such as case tops and sides. In addition to providing decorative looks, veneers add weight, strength and dimensional stability. In some cases, a molded resin is used to simulate wood carvings.
