Hooker Furniture Marketing Materials Certified by Forest Stewardship Council

Martinsville, Va.: The back covers of Hooker Furniture's latest product catalogs are sporting a new logo certification considered by many as the most important environmental designation in the paper industry.

The logo, which states, "FSC... Product group from well-managed forests, controlled sources and recycled wood or fiber" is a certification by the Forest Stewardship Council, a non-profit, international and independent organization that sets standards for responsible forestry. The FSC certification guarantees that the fiber used to produce the paper has been harvested from a properly managed forest geared toward the sustainability of the forest.

The FSC certification is the primary certification recognized by leading environmental groups, industry and government agencies. Environmental supporters include Rainforest Alliance, World Wildlife Fund and Forest Ethics.

In addition to using FSC-certified papers for Hooker's catalogs and media materials, the company is also in the process of shifting to FSC certified papers with recycled content for its letterhead paper, envelopes and business cards as well.
