Following its highly successful introduction of a dozen golf-themed accent pieces last fall, Hooker Furniture has debuted distinctive new wood furniture pieces under the PGA TOUR? Home brand.
The selection of entertainment centers, home office, bookcases, display/curio cabinets and living room tables are based on what consumers told Hooker they wanted in golf d?cor through a Website survey and product review. Consumers said in the surveys that the rooms they most wanted to furnish with golf d?cor are the home office, family room and recreation/bonus room.

The golf d?cor pieces in most demand, according to the surveys, are home office furniture and bookcases (the number one choice), small accent tables, entertainment centers and display cabinets. And the golf d?cor looks sought by Americans include "antique looks in cherry woods and finishes," "antique looks in warm maple woods and finishes," "club house" looks and "hand-painted pieces with golfing motifs," in that order.

"Our new selection of products and styles reflects what the consumer is asking for in golf d?cor," said Hank Long, senior vice president of design and merchandising for Hooker.
The new introductions in the PGA TOUR? Home Collection include the Avenel group, a relaxed traditional style in maple solids and maple and cherry veneers; and the Sugarloaf group, a masculine traditional style in maple solids and cherry veneers with an antique maple finish.

Design elements of Avenel include arches, diamond motifs, crown molding, knotty rouge cherry veneers and physical distressing. Pieces include a dramatic bookcase with three arches; two desks; a computer credenza; entertainment center and occasional tables. The bookcase retail price is $2,400.
Design features of Sugarloaf include heavy half-round pilasters, deep crown molding and a patterned top frame molding. Pieces include another dramatic, oversized "clubhouse-like" bookcase with storage cubbies set to retail at $2,999. An entertainment center and coordinating occasional tables are also offered in Sugarloaf.

Entertainment centers are also offered in the relaxed country-traditional Sawgrass style and the Scottish pine style of Piper Glen.
