Martinsville, Va.: Following its pioneering introduction of ready-to-install designer sink cabinets for powder rooms two years ago, Hooker Furniture is introducing another new category of bathroom-compatible furniture: linen armoires.
At the Spring 2004 International Home Furnishings Market, Hooker displayed its new bathroom-compatible category of linen armoires in a plush, upscale 'bath showcase' section of its showroom alongside correlating designer sink cabinets. The bathroom "highboys" were overflowing with personal spa items like fragrant soaps, body wash, bubble bath and candles.

Hooker's collection of five linen armoires, in styles ranging from European to traditional, is designed to correlate with Hooker's extensive line of designer sink cabinets and to warm up all that chrome, ceramic, glass and tile in American bathrooms with a little wood. The armoires are targeted to retail at $999. Each fully assembled, all wood, quality armoire is highly functional with a deep bottom drawer for storing towels, a single drawer for washcloths and a top jewelry drawer and three adjustable shelves. A door opening at the top features a half-length mirror.
"These armoires give the homeowner an opportunity to have 'real furniture' in their powder rooms and to personalize and add style to their bathrooms," said Mike Spece, senior vice president at Hooker. The pieces "show respect for the customers' square footage by giving the maximum function in a small footprint," Spece added. The dimensions of the armoires are 22-by-18 deep by 78 inches high. The styles and finishes of the armoires correlate with some of Hooker's best selling designer sink cabinets, expanding on the bathroom category.

"The bathroom is the final frontier of home decorating and the ultimate setting for personal retreat and rejuvenation," added Kim Shaver, Director-Marketing & Communications for Hooker. "These linen armoires add warmth and style to bathroom d?cor and are perfect for storing the personal spa items so popular with consumers today. Those few moments of rejuvenation in a candlelit bubble bath provide a welcome retreat in the midst of our hectic lives."

In addition to the new bathroom-compatible linen armoires, Hooker also added to its famous line up of ready-to-install designer sink cabinets with three new sinks at the recent international furniture show. The new models, including an oval-shaped sink in a whitewashed finish, have new upscale features. These features include recessed sink basins that are mounted underneath the top surface of the sinks. Also, two of the new sink introductions feature a pull-out step stool to help children reach the sink.
