This metal bed gets much of its distinctive character from the added thickness achieved by knots, which are created when two pieces of metal are joined. Two additional short pieces of metal are fused to the joint to create a thicker knot at each juncture. The graceful scrolls are in counterpoint to the simple tapered legs at the bottom.
