During college I attending Gwinnett Technical College to ease in to school as I was coming back as an adult. Upon graduation I was hired by a kitchen and bath design firm as a kitchen designer. We worked on high end kitchens at this firm. I was there for 2 years. The company closed its doors and I enrolled in Brenau University's Masters of Interior Design Program. My first love is to do kitchen and baths. I am a technical thinker and you have to think through every detail. My second love would be space planning. Making sure the right sizes for the right place will make a room "work" effectively.
I like to see a clients room and to have a conversation about how the room will be used so that the pieces chosen will meet those needs. This enables me to create a space planning decision. I then have a discussion about the things they like and don't like as it relates to color, pattern, etc. Resourcing for pieces can be very overwhelming for clients because there are so many choices. By knowing the size and number of pieces, color palette and client esthetic we can quickly eliminate what we do not want.
